Who are SportNL?
SportNL are a not-for-profit organization that aims to promote sport within the province of NL by working with local provincial sport organizations, providing program development, communication and training support.
What was their need?
Following COVID, the organization needed to complete a refresh of their strategic plan and, to accompany it, a review to ensure the organization had the right structure, resources and capacity to achieve the plan.
What did we do and what was the result?
Firstly, we supported the development of the strategic plan, working with the Board, team and other stakeholders. We implemented an insight gathering process with members and stakeholders to inform the development of a comprehensive current state view (SWOT analysis). Working with the Board and leadership, we then facilitated the development of a practical vision for the next 3-5 years, and the associated strategic drivers needed to achieve that vision.
Once the plan was verified, we completed an organizational review including reviewing the current roles and responsibilities for the team and making recommendations on future structure, reviewing all HR and people practices and processes, a review of compensation and the package offered to employees to ensure the organization can attract and retain talent.
The organization now has new senior leadership to help drive the strategy, clearer role definition and the right resources to improve member services.
